Who We Are
SeaVibe ("we", "us", "our") is a web application that helps users discover beaches, bars, nightlife, water sports, and other coastal spots. We operate at seavibe.app.

What Data We Collect
- Account data — email address and password (hashed) when you register
- Location data — approximate location you provide when searching for spots (not stored permanently)
- Usage data — pages visited, searches performed, spots saved, category preferences
- Payment data — processed securely by Paddle; we do not store card numbers
- Device data — browser type, OS, IP address, language preference
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the SeaVibe service and show relevant spots near you
- To manage your account and subscription plan (Free / Pro)
- To process payments and send receipts via Paddle
- To improve the app based on aggregate usage patterns
- To send transactional emails (account, billing) — no marketing without consent
Third-Party Services
- Paddle — payment processing (paddle.com)
- OpenStreetMap — map and spot data on the Free plan
- Google Places API — ratings and photos on the Pro plan
- Google Fonts — typography (fonts.googleapis.com)
Each third party has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to any party.
Cookies & Storage
We use session cookies to keep you logged in and localStorage to remember your preferences (theme, language, radius). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregate analytics may be retained indefinitely.
Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We follow industry best practices to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. Continued use of SeaVibe after changes constitutes acceptance.
